Iran Sets New Gas Production Record at Assaluyeh, Reaching 725 Million Cubic Meters Per Day
Iran’s Oil Minister announced that daily gas production from the Assaluyeh gas field in the Persian Gulf has reached a new record of 725 million cubic meters, marking an all-time high.
Speaking on Monday during a visit to the Assaluyeh Energy Zone, Oil Minister Mohsen Paknejad told Iranian state television that, in recognition of the tireless efforts of personnel working on the South Pars platforms, the bulk of the gas required to supply the household, commercial, and small industrial sectors is produced from this major gas field.Paknejad also noted that the Fajr Jam gas refinery, which was struck during the imposed war in June, returned to production in less than six months thanks to round-the-clock efforts. He said the refinery’s restoration has added 12 to 13 million cubic meters of gas per day to the national supply.The minister further stressed that colder weather has led to a surge in domestic gas demand, making efficient consumption management essential to ensure stable gas delivery to the household network.Addressing gas supplies for power plants, Paknejad said that since the beginning of the year, a cumulative 3.5 billion cubic meters of additional gas has been delivered to electricity-generating power plants. This, he explained, is aimed at preventing reductions in power plant fuel amid fluctuations in household gas consumption and ensuring reliable electricity supply for Iranian families.He added that adequate quantities of suitable liquid fuel have also been secured to avoid any disruptions in electricity generation.
