Iran Downs 52nd US MQ-9 Drone Since Onset of War

The Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) announced that its air defense units have shot down the 52nd MQ-9 Reaper drone since the US-Israeli war began in late February.
The drone was intercepted and destroyed at 2:30 a.m. local time on Wednesday over Qeshm Island by the Iran’s advanced air defense system, the IRGC's Public Relations Office announced.“During the Third Imposed War, hundreds of hostile drones have been shot down by the country’s air defense forces,” the IRGC said, adding that Lucas, Hermes, MQ-1 and MQ-9 drones were among them.
Iran’s air defense forces have compiled a remarkable record of aerial victories during the ongoing war and previous conflicts with the United States.During the 40-day US-Israeli war against Iran, Iranian air defense units destroyed hundreds of advanced enemy drones, including MQ-9 Reapers, Hermes, and LUCAS models. They have also successfully targeted multiple US military aircraft, including F-35 stealth fighters, F-15s and F-16s, along with refueling planes.
The Iranian Armed Forces have also shot down three US MQ-1 Predator drones over the Strait of Hormuz within 24 hours despite Washington’s repeated claims of destroying air defense power.
